Junk food
and snack attacks 1!
Effective snacking for
weight loss and six-pack abs
It’s
amazing the number of people who still associate snacking
with junk food. This is not surprising given that for
most people snacking means grabbing a pizza, chocolate bar,
or bag of chips. But in its truest sense snacking does not
mean “junking out.” You can still snack for weight
loss and six-pack abs provided your food
selections are nutritiously sound.
We can thank the fast-food industry for destroying the art of
healthy snacking. Fast is an appropriate word as such “fast”
foods as chips, chocolate bars, and deep-fried anything, are
fast to buy, fast to consume, and most important fast to put
weight on your midsection! But with a little creativity it’s
easy to put together healthy snacks that will satisfy your
hunger and contribute to your weight loss program. Snack
properly and six-pack abs can be yours fast!
What’s a snack?
A healthy snack as opposed to junk
food or a regular meal is a small food item that is
relatively easy to prepare, nutritious, and convenient to
take with you. Snacks supplement full meals by supplying
additional nutrients for your body to recover between
workouts. They also keep your appetite under control.
Finally, and perhaps most important, they actually help
you lose weight. By eating every couple of hours you will
keep the body’s fat-storing mechanisms turned
off.
A
little preparation
We’ll be honest in that some snack items may
take a few extra minutes to prepare, but the results are
worth it. Others will probably need to be kept cool in a
refrigerator or special containers until you need
them. But
for the sake of a few minutes of your time and a cheap
plastic container, you’ll have fast, easy, and portable
snacks that will do more for your weight loss and
six-pack abs than visiting that greasy burger
joint. And just think of all the cash you’ll save over
the year with the typical vending machine item costing $2
and fast food meal about $3 to $5. Finally look at the
tremendous health benefits you’ll experience. Combined
with lack of exercise, junk food is one of the
biggest causes of diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.
And let’s face it; there is nothing attractive about
obesity.
